Abstract: In the fast-paced world of clinical research, who has time to manually write SAS programs from mock tables? Enter our AI-powered automation tool, IDD’AI, designed to make your life easier and your work faster. This innovative tool aims to use Natural Language Processing (NLP) to read mock tables like a pro, picking out the stats you need and variables from the ADaM metadata. And here’s the kicker: our LLM will rank potential matches by confidence level, so you spend less time hunting for the right code and more time doing what really matters. By automating the boring bits, we aim to help you get the job done quicker and with fewer mistakes. This proof of concept (PoC) by Euranova and IDDI will evaluate efficiency gains, AI accuracy, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, European AI Act) while keeping human oversight for reliability. Say goodbye to tedious programming and hello to a smoother, more efficient workflow!

14:30 – 15:00 CET Wednesday 19 November | X3-4

Presenters:

  • Davy Baele – Team Leader, CDM Programming, IDDI
  • Nicolas Deravet – Expert CDM Programming Specialist, IDDI

Abstract: Recommendations on how SDTM annotations should be formatted are well described within the SDTM Metadata Submission Guidelines (SDTM-MSG). Verifying, adjusting and maintaining compliance of annotated CRFs with these guidelines can be very labor-intensive without dedicated tools. Many off-the-shelf Python and Java libraries can extract annotation settings from acrf.pdf files. However, these only provide raw annotation outputs similar to (X)FDF format that suffer from lack of harmonization. Furthermore, while some formatting recommendations don’t leave room for interpretation (e.g., font style, colors, …), others allow for flexibility and sponsor-specific conventions. This mandates a flexible approach for a dedicated tool. This presentation will discuss the creation of a Python class that can ingest annotations, update basic parameters, and reexport them into FDF. Additional methods for parameters of interest can easily be added. This framework can then be used to auto-correct issues, enhancing efficiency whilst guaranteeing full transparency of changes through FDF files comparison.
