Poster: BOOST YOUR COMPARISON!
Abstract: The goal of the %compare-ds macro is a clear and improved dataset comparison in one call. Developed to support IDDI statistical programming activities, the macro builds upon PROC COMPARE by adding several automated enhancements. The two datasets are automatically sorted by the “ID” (key) variables, and the differences are printed into more complete and clear tables. Moreover, there are many parameters in addition to the classic PROC COMPARE options. There is the possibility to standardize character variables to match even though there are some differences in casing, blank spaces, special characters… and it is then applied identically on both sides to get a more reliable result. You can also add “data options” linked to the input datasets from macro parameters. Another improvement is the creation of two datasets by input: one containing the duplicate records and one containing the records present in the input dataset but not its counterpart.
