Tomasz Burzykowski, Ph.D.

Tomasz leads methodological innovation in clinical trial design and analysis at IDDI. With 25+ years of experience in biostatistics for clinical research, he has supported the design and methodology of numerous clinical trials in oncology, ophthalmology, cardiac diseases, and rare diseases, across phases I–III. Tomasz has published extensively on survival analysis, surrogate endpoints, and meta-analysis and co-authored a textbook on linear mixed-effects models. He served as President of the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (2023–2024), holds visiting professorships across Europe, and played a key role in establishing biostatistics education programs in Poland. Tomasz currently serves as Full Professor of Biostatistics and Statistical Bioinformatics at Hasselt University’s Data Science Institute.
